The ring style is unique to the MeLuna company and is popular for this reason. The ring can be pulled when removing the cup. It is important to release the suction first, though! In the large size the ring is also quite large, making removal even easier.

These cups are not silicone but TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer). MeLuna are the only company to make their cups from this material.
